Came here for lunch after randomly hearing about it from a coworker and WOW! We will definitely be coming back for more. The food was wonderful tasting, fresh and visually pleasing. Started with the bacon and pimento hush puppies and was blown away with how good they were. I had the burger which was excellent and very well prepared and my colleague had the chicken friend steak which he said was also excellent. The prices are a bit on the high side, but the food is well worth it!

Very good. Heavy on the meat offerings but as a vegetarian I found plenty of things to eat. I had fried pickles, very good and sour homemade pickles with a light breading full of cracked black pepper and a very dill heavy ranch (just how I like it). Then I had the fried green tomatoes which have a different breading that is cornmeal based and light. I would pass on the sorghum sauce but that's because I'm not a sweet fan. The grits were great and not salty as other reviewers have said. Then I had the Mexican street corn which is not of course but their delicious take on it. This is a carry over from the broiler house so I already knew what to expect. Instead of mayo they uses Alabama white bbq sauce and feta instead of cotija cheese (I believe). It's very good but the tar was comes from vinegar not lime as we are used to in Mexican corn. The nonvegetarians in the group had schnitzel, which was a bit thick but they liked it, and the turkey burger. They do have a kids menu as well with about 8 options. We will be back.

This place is so cool! Even from across the highway, we were admiring the beautiful historic home. The food taste like home cooking from fresh ingredients. We went for lunch and wanted to try everything. The chicken fried steak is a showstopper: tender, crispy, salty, and well covered with gravy. The macaroni and cheese has a delicious creamy sauce: clearly no orange powder or microwaving involved here. The chips are thick cut and taste good with the sour cream dip. The hamburgers come with lots of toppings or plain and simple, with a thick handmade patty and a soft bakery bun. The fries are hand cut and irregularly shaped but taste delicious. The kitchen's frying skills are on point. The decor has bright neutral colors and interesting antiques (junk?) on the walls. There are tables for groups and also bar seating for the solo lunch crowd. The restaurant draws a cross section of society, including tradesmen, firemen, and people in suits. It's a good addition to the neighborhood, and it will be fun to watch the menu evolve

I want to personally thank you for being such a great restaurant. I went today at about 11 and had the waiter melissa. She was very friendly and provided great service the entire time. I had the pulled pork meal and what was supposed to be potato salad (i really wanna try it) but it came with fries (which were amazing). This has got to be the best restaurant i've had in a while. Eye-opening experience. Food was soft and warm and delicious and now I have to come back for the brunch.

This restaurant is just off the 35 and New Braunfels just down from Best Western Motel. They have taken an older home to repurpose into a causal atmosphere and updated with natural wood planks. The floor still is original and has good tunes filling the atmosphere. The staff is friendly and patient as I wasn't sure what to order for food or spirits. They have a full bar for your spirit's pleasure along with regular drink choices. There are tables or booths for seating. They have covered outside seating too. I ordered the cheese enchiladas that came with dirty rice and beans. Each was to perfection!! My friend had Parmesan cheese fries with her meal which I cannot remember her main sandwich... sorry. She said it too was very good. I can see myself as a regular here. Bravo!!
